Global Warming Research Assignment Green House Effect - 550 Words

Global Warming Research Assignment: Green House Effect (Essay Sample) Content: GLOBAL WARMINGVICTORIA LEWISHARVARD UNIVERSITYINTRODUCTIONGlobal warming has become an environmental agenda taking its center stage in poplar writings and research articles. Global warming is the environmental temperature increase caused by the greenhouse gases emission into the atmosphere. Warming of this climate is evident from the increase in ocean temperatures, melting of ice and average global air. This might also have been aggravated by the existing factors like ozone depletion, the rising oxidant levels and acidification. The purpose of this study is to understand the cause and impacts of global warming and climate change. Literature search on the research journal in the areas of global warming and climate change was conducted on the Google search engine in order to bring to light the above mentioned topics. International policies like gases emission reduction needs to be re-evaluated and implemented. Implementation of the suggested ideas could result to a redu ced negative environmental impact and consequently reduced global warming.Green house effectGreenhouses emit gases like carbon dioxide which absorbs heat (infrared radiation) from the Earths surface. According to Ranveer et al., (2016), the concentration of these gases has greatly increased in the recent years resulting to increase in global warming. Due to the trapping of this heat, this results to warming of the ocean and the Earths surface. Warming of the ocean results to the rise in the sea level and decrease in artic sea ice (Cicerone and Nurse, 2010).Human activitiesHuman activities like deforestation, transport industries and power plants plantation are other major reasons for atmospheric carbon dioxide accumulation (Mohamed et al., 2012). Each year millions of trees are cut down and burned in search of heat which has also become a major source of large amounts of carbon entering the atmosphere. About 33% of the existing atmospheric carbon dioxide is emitted by the light veh icles through the burned gasoline resulting to global warming (Elzein and Chehayeb, 2015). Moreover, in burning coal with the aim of producing electricity, carbon dioxide is emitted as the main constituent (Santosa et al., 2006).Existing solution to global warmingA clean development mechanism will involve reducing waste materials through recycling strategies and increasing peoples awareness on waste management. Green energy is also a good environmental conservation strategy. Many countries should introduce and finance these programs which generate power with minimal environmental pollution.CONCLUSIONOn conclusion, global warming has become a major challenge requires immediate response. Human activities are the main cause of this challenge. Waste management and recyclin...
